How does the Foundation fund its mission?

Funds are raised in several ways—individual donations, corporate sponsorships, fund-raising events, Art in Giving, and stock/market security transfers.

Who was Rachel Markoff?

Rachel was the daughter of Eliane and Gary Markoff who died of an incurable brain tumor one week after her ninth birthday. She was the twin sister of Audrey. The Foundation’s work continues in her memory.

Are donations to The Rachel Molly Markoff Foundation tax deductible?

Yes, the Foundation is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) charitable foundation. Its tax identification number is 04-6907596. The Letter of Determination can be requested by email.

 

Its mission is to fund cancer research with an emphasis on pediatric brain tumors and to assist families coping with childhood cancer.

Does the Foundation accept gifts of marketable securities?

Who operates the Foundation?

Eliane and Gary Markoff are the founders and trustees of the Foundation. A number of volunteers help organize, promote, and run fund raising events as well as the Foundation.

Are the trustees paid any fees or other compensation?

Since the Foundation was founded in 1999, no salaries, fees or other forms of compensation have been paid to the trustees.
